   ### How to proceed after partial recognition?

1\) Adaptation qualification
Following a decision on partial equivalence, we also recommend approaching a [recognition counselling centre. ](https://test.ihk-fosa.de/beratungsstellen/)The so-called [adaptation qualification plan ](https://test.ihk-fosa.de/fileadmin/Dateien/Antragsformular/Anpassungsqualifizierung_IHK_FOSA_01.pdf)will be discussed there. This sets out in writing all the measures required to adjust the material differences that have been resolved.

2\) Follow-up application
Full equivalence can be achieved by submitting official proof that material differences identified in the initial decision have been adjusted. A reduced fee is charged for a follow-up application, see [IHK FOSA fee schedule](https://test.ihk-fosa.de/fileadmin/Dateien/Grafik_Foerderung_Gebuehren/IHK_FOSA_Gebuehrentarif.pdf). The follow-up application always refers to the same German reference profession as the initial application.

A follow-up application has to be submitted after 5 years at the latest (calculated from the date of the initial decision). Please note your residence status in this context.
